A video of a policeman celebrating his birthday with history sheeters in the middle of the road in front of Sangvi Police Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad has gone viral on social media.

As seen in the video, a cake was placed on a table in the middle of the road outside the Sangvi Police Station on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The moment the clock struck midnight, the policeman, identified as Pravin Patil, cut the cake, and the others present at the spot burst several firecrackers. The video of the celebration was recorded using a drone.
Once the video went viral on social media, it received a lot of flak. Following the criticism, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinod Kumar Choubey took action against the cops. He suspended four cops who participated in the birthday celebration: Vivek Gaikwad, Suhas Dangre, Vijay More and Patil.
Choubey has also transferred senior police inspector Mahesh Bansode of Sangvi Police Station. He has now been attached to the police control room.
Reportedly, at least four history sheeters had gathered for the celebration.
