Mumbai : Almost a week after undergraduate exams took off, the examination department of the University of Mumbai has realised that several colleges are yet to finish their curriculum syllabus and hence it has postponed the university examination of a few subjects of undergraduate and post graduate degree to give time to colleges to finish their syllabus.
According to the university circular, a total of ten papers of under-graduate and PG degree are postponed as colleges could not finish the syllabus. Out of a total of ten papers, five papers were scheduled to start next Wednesday and Thursday.
Students wonder how come the university realized so late that colleges are yet to finish their syllabus. It shows lack of communication between the colleges and university or decision making process is very slow in examination department. Papers are postponed on an average by four weeks.
In a letter dated October 9, signed by Controller of Examinations, the exams have been postponed due to late admissions in various departments. It has justified that due to late admission process, colleges and department could not complete their curriculum syllabus. Consequently, university has to postpone the examination.
