Thane: CM Uddhav Thackeray's poster blackened, Sanjay Raut's effigy burnt by rebel Eknath Shinde's supporters

In a response to the Eknath Shinde's supporters, the Shiv-Sena's party workers who are supporting Uddhav Thackeray too held "Joote Maro Andolan" in some parts of the state.

Thane: Amidst the political crisis, supporters of rebel Shiv-Sena MLA Eknath Shinde blackened the poster of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at Shiv-Sena's Chandanwadi branch office in the morning on Sunday. In the evening, the supporters burned the effigy of senior Shiv-Sena leader Sanjay Raut at Teen Hath Naka in Thane.

In a response to the Eknath Shinde's supporters, the Shiv-Sena's party workers who are supporting Uddhav Thackeray too held "Joote Maro Andolan" in some parts of the state.

Earlier on Saturday, June 25 the office of Eknath Shinde's son Dr Shrikant Shinde who is the Shiv-Sena's Member of Parliament (MP) from the Kalyan constituency was vandalised in Ulhasnagar by Shiv-Sena supporters. Police arrested all the six activists who vandalised the office. Heavy security was deployed outside the Shrikant Shinde bungalow in Dombivali and also outside the Shiv-Sena Dombivali and Kalyan branch offices.

One of the sources from the Shiv Sena party on the condition of anonymity said, " The supporters of Eknath Shinde reacting to the Sanjay Raut's tweet about the rebel MLA's that 'Kitne Din Tak Rahoge Guwahati, Aana toh hai Chaupaty me hi' burnt the effigy of Shiv-Sena senior leader Sanjay Raut at Teen Hath Naka at Thane in the evening."

Meanwhile, Naresh Mhaske, Thane's former Mayor and also Thane district chief of Shiv-Sena who resigned from his post on Saturday, June 25 said, "All the leaders from Thane are supporting Eknath Shinde. So whom should Iead as district chief of Shiv Sena? Thus it was best to resign from the post."

Sanjay Dhumal, senior police inspector of Naupada police station said, "The poster of Uddhav Thackeray was not blackened totally only blue inks were thrown on the poster by some unknown person. We have registered a non-cognizable offence against an unknown person."

Wagle Estate police officials were unavailable for the comments even after several attempts.
