Aurangabad: Clad in just their innerwear, students appearing for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations protested on Wednesday, demanding the shutting down of the 'Maha' portal, among other issues. The morcha started from Paithan Gate, ending with the protesters handing over a letter to the departmental head. They demanded the scrapping of the online exams and the revival of offline testing.

They also want the pre-exams for police sub-inspector level to be conducted separately from the rest of the exams. They asked for announcement of the designated seat numbers along with the MPSC exam schedule, an increase in the seats increased for other streams and the committee should also announce the police enrolment schedule ahead of time, they said. Earlier, entrants had to run from pillar to post to obtain information and schedules. As a solution, the state government collated all the information on various exams under one platform, emahaportal — from the exam schedule to the announcement of results, everything could be tracked on one single portal.
