Mumbai : Some relief from the heat awaits Mumbaikars after the parts of the City witnessed pre-monsoon showers on Friday evening. This trend is likely to continue for the next two days, the temperatures may marginally drop due to these showers and the skies are expected to be partially cloudy, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
V.K. Rajeev, Director of Indian Meteorological Department said, “These are just light pre-monsoon showers due to excessive humidity and moisture in the air. However, they will help in reducing the heat to some extent.”
K.S. Hosalikar, Deputy Director of IMD said “We are not sure when the monsoon will arrive in Mumbai. It arrived in Kerala on Friday morning and is expected to touch coastal Karnataka within 24-hours, by Saturday night. It will probably arrive in Mumbai next week.”
