Pune: The Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) candidate for Sangli Lok Sabha seat is going to be replaced, with efforts to rope in the former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state unit vice-president and ex-legislator Prakash Shendge on a VBA ticket.
Prior to this, Prakash’s cousin Jaisingh Shendge had been announced as the candidate. The VBA was the first party to announce its candidate for Sangli seat. However, with the changing political scenario, the party felt a more formidable candidate was needed. At a meeting of officials and party workers on Saturday, it was decided to replace the candidate. The BJP is yet to announce its candidate.
