Mumbai : While there were reports doing the rounds on social media that the Oshiwara police have arrested one person for circulating an old photograph of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his family allegedly to malign his image, the police, however, on Saturday clarified that no arrest has been made in the case yet.

The city police have in fact contacted Twitter seeking information on the origin of the image. “The investigation will proceed only after we get the reply from Twitter officials as to who uploaded the photo and the location from where it was uploaded,” said DCP Dhananjay Kulkarni, the spokesperson of Mumbai Police.

A complaint was lodged by BJP activist Sanjay Pandey, who alleged that the image and text was uploaded to malign the CM’s image.

An old photograph of Fadnavis, along with his wife and daughter on a yacht, was recently circulated on social media platforms. The image suggested that Fadnavis was enjoying time out with his family while on an official tour of the US last week.
