Navi Mumbai: Mother-Son Duo Found Dead In Kamothe Flat; Police Investigating Gas Leak Incident

Body of a 45-year-old man and his 70-year-old mother has been found at their residence in sector 6 of Kamothe on Wednesday evening. According to Kamothe police, they had first received a gas leak call from one of the flats Dream land society in sector 6 of Kamothe. Hence, the police reach the spot with fire brigade team.

Navi Mumbai: Body of a 45-year-old man and his 70-year-old mother has been found at their residence in sector 6 of Kamothe on Wednesday evening.

According to Kamothe police, they had first received a gas leak call from one of the flats Dream land society in sector 6 of Kamothe. Hence, the police reach the spot with fire brigade team. On reaching the spot, the police found the flat to be closed from inside and hence the fire brigade team broke the door open.

“On reaching inside the flat, the gas leak was addressed immediately by the fire team and when we entered the house, we found two persons on the bed, dead,” a police officer from Kamothe police station said. The deceased were identified as JItendra Jaggi (45) and Geeta Jaggi (70).

According to police, the man had an injury on his face and head while the mother had none. “The burners of the gas stove were open due to which there was gas leak. We are investigating in both angles if it was a murder or suicide,” Assistant commissioner of police (Panvel division) Ashok Rajput said.

According to police, the mother was a small time estate agent and the son did whatever job came his way. The duo lived in the rented flat. “Only once we get the post mortem report, it can be confirmed if it was a murder or a suicide,” Rajput said. As of now an accidental death report has been registered with Kamothe police and the investigations are on.
