Sri Sathya Sai Prema Pravahini Rath Yatra Reaches Mumbai; City-Wide Procession To Culminate At Dharmakshetra On August 14

The Sri Sathya Sai Prema Pravahini rath commemorating the birth centenary of the spiritual guru from Puttaparthi will enter the city on Thursday. The rath, carrying his relics, will reach Mulund today and then make its way across the city before reaching Dharmakshetra, Andheri East, the local headquarters of the Sathya Sai devotee community, on August 14.

Mumbai: The Sri Sathya Sai Prema Pravahini rath commemorating the birth centenary of the spiritual guru from Puttaparthi will enter the city on Thursday. The rath, carrying his relics, will reach Mulund today and then make its way across the city before reaching Dharmakshetra, Andheri East, the local headquarters of the Sathya Sai devotee community, on August 14.

From Mulund, the rath will be received at Powai on the morning of Tuesday, July 22. The procession will go to Hiranandani, Powai, where devotees will be able to have Bhagwan's divya darshan till 1.30pm.

The programme will conclude with mangal aarti and mahaprasadam. Later, the convoy will make its way the Bhajan Samaj temple, 90 Feet Road, Garodia Nagar, Ghatkopar East, at 2.30pm. The evening's programme will include pradosham pooja and music offerings.

The rath will continue its journey through Chembur, Sion, Wadala, Fort, before going to the western suburbs. By the end of August, it will leave Mumbai and travel to Mira Road, Virar, Vikramgad, before crossing into Gujarat for the rest of its journey.

Sathya Sai Baba, who lived between November 23, 1926 and April 24, 2011, has millions of followers. His birthplace, Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, is the headquarters of the Sathya Sai organisation.

As part of the celebrations of the Guru's birth centenary, his followers are taking Sathya Sai Prema Pravahinis across the country to carry his message of divine love.

Rath schedule in Mumbai

● 17–30 July: Mulund, Ghatkopar, Chembur, Sion, Wadala

● 31 July–2 August: Fort, Worli, Dadar

● 3–13 August: Bandra, Andheri, Goregaon, Aksa, Borivali

● 14–20 August: Dharmakshetra, Mumbai – the sacred abode of Bhagawan

● 21–30 August: Palghar, Mira Road, Vasai, Virar, Khardi, Vikramgadh, Saphale, Makadchola

On 31st August, the rath will be ceremoniously handed over to devotees in Gujarat to continue its journey across the country.
