Mumbai: Three children and a woman fell into a septic tank, after a truck loaded with construction material hit the top covering the septic tank at a Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) colony, at Vashi Naka in Chembur, on Wednesday morning around 10 am.

According to the local residents, a construction work at library was going on, when a truck loaded with construction material arrived at the premises. While the truck was reversing, the back tyres got stuck in the fragile cover of the septic tank. The septic tank caved in as the back tyres got stuck in it and the back portion of the truck slipped inside the septic tank.

In this shocking incident, three children and a woman who were standing near the tank fell in inside. The locals immediately jumped in it to rescue them all, but managed to pull out only two children. The locals said, the police and the fire officials reached half an hour after they had reported the incident.

According to the locals staying in the MHADA colony, they have raised objections against the construction undertaken. Many have even complained to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), but alleged the Shiv Sena corporator,

Anjali Sanjay Naik, has insisted on completing the construction work of the library.
Two more victims were rescued by the fire department and all four were sent to the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital (Sion Hospital) in Sion.
