Mumbai: Central Railway Harbour line services were affected during the evening peak hours on Friday, because of a rail fracture, which occurred at 6.30pm near Dockyard railway stations. This threw the harbour line schedule in a disarray.
A senior railway official said, the rail fracture was detected during peak hours, after which the restoration work was started immediately. Four local trains were cancelled.
“The services on harbour line were delayed by 20 minutes, due to a rail fracture, which was rectified by 6.50 pm. The bunching issue will be resolved soon and the services on harbour will be normalised.
Inconvenience is regretted,” said an official. Another incident of signal failure was reported on Trans Harbour line near Turbhe, which also resulted in local train services being delayed by 15 minutes.
