Mumbai: A tense situation resembling a street brawl unfolded at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on the night of June 3, when a dispute over parking between an airport security guard and a private taxi driver escalated into a physical altercation. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Mumbai Police swiftly intervened to control the situation.

Following a complaint from the security guard, the Airport Police Station registered a case against the accused taxi driver, who was then taken into custody for questioning. The accused has been identified as Irfan Sharif Khan.

According to airport police sources, the incident occurred late at night between June 2 and 3 in the airport’s parking area. The confrontation began when the security guard allegedly pushed the driver for parking his vehicle improperly, in violation of airport rules. This led to a heated argument between the two, which soon turned into a violent fight.

Witnesses said both sides exchanged punches and kicks, beating each other until their clothes were torn. The situation intensified until a police officer arrived at the scene and attempted to defuse the conflict.

During the investigation, police found that Irfan Khan had parked his vehicle in a manner that not only violated traffic norms but also endangered public safety. Based on a formal complaint filed by the security guard Raju Rajendra Luhera, police have registered a case and launched a further inquiry into the incident.
