Mumbai: The BMC-run Nair Hospital Dental College has been conferred as 'Best Dental Hospital in Asia' by the prestigious United Stated-based Pierre Fauchard Academy. BMC's medical director Dr Neelam Andrade accepted the award on behalf of the hospital.
Dr Andrade, former dean of Nair dental hospital, herself was also honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding performance in the field of dental health. She served the hospital for 46 long years, starting as a student in 1979.
A special conference on dental health was organized by Pierre Fauchard Academy in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where Nair Hospital Dental College was honored as the best performing hospital at the international level.

Established in 1933, the BMC-run Nair Hospital Dental College located in Mumbai Central, is the second oldest dental college in the country. Currently the hospital has a total of 25 beds and 300 dental treatment chairs. An average of 1,000 to 1,200 patients take treatment here per day and an average of 3.5 lakh patients are treatment every year. Apart from patient care, the hospital also conducts several social activities.
