978 fresh COVID-19 cases logged in last 24 hours

Reportedly, the CM will chair a meeting of the rebel Sena MLAs at 11 am today. After the meeting, Shinde camp spokesperson Deepak Kesarkar is set to address the media.

Shinde has reached Goa for the meeting, however, he prepares to return to Mumbai before Speaker's election.

BJP blames Shiv Sena & BMC over waterlogging 

Soon after claiming stake of Maharashtra government, BJP has targeted Shiv Sena and BMC over waterlogging in several parts of the city, including Dadar, Andheri, Sion-Bandra, among others.

Mid-Day quoted BJP leader Ashish Shelar, who visited the BMC Disaster Control Room on Friday, as saying, "The disaster management system set up for the city is not up to the mark. This shows a lack of planning by the ruling party. Milan Subway flooded again, causing traffic congestion. As a result of the ramp, traffic moved in the Hindmata area, but underground tanks are full of water. The city witnessed waterlogging in various places which showed the planning vacuum of the ruling party to tackle it."

Rebel camp MLA Deepak Kesarkar says Thackeray chose NCP & Congress over Sena MLAs

While speaking to the media in Goa, Shinde camp spokesperson Deepak Kesarkar said, "It is being said that Eknath Shinde has been expelled from the party. It will be challenged, it will impact democracy."

"Workers are signing a Rs 100 affidavit that they won't leave Shiv Sena. Shiv Bandhan (tied when a person joins Shiv Sena) is the 'bandhan' of love and it’s still with us. This is just to misguide the workers," he added.

Kesarkar stated, "We won’t speak against Uddhav saheb’s statement. We still believe that he is our leader, we do have answers to all questions but there is a limit to it."

Mumbaikars breathe best-ever air quality at 10 since 2015 

As rain continues in the city, Mumbaikars on Friday breathed the cleanest air recorded so far. The city has recorded the best air quality index (AQI) level with a score of 10 since the System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) began monitoring in June 2015.

AQI is measured by the level of the main pollutant in the air—particulate material 2.5 or PM2.5, particles that measure less than 2.5 microns.
