Mumbai city reported 648 cases, taking its cumulative tally of infections to 7,19,610 and 15 fatalities, which raised the toll to 15,383.

Maharashtra on Saturday reported 9,812 fresh coronavirus positive cases and 179 fatalities, taking the tally to 60,26,847 and the toll to 1,20,881, the state Health department said.
Two monkeys found dead in Thane locality
Two monkeys were found dead in the Wagle Estate locality here in Maharashtra on Saturday, civic officials said. While one of the monkeys was found lying dead on the ground near the bus depot another was found hanging from a tree branch, Thane Municipal Corporation's (TMC's) Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam said. The carcasses were handed over to the forest department, he said. (PTI)

Shiv Sena alleges Centre using CBI, ED to 'pressurise' political opponents
Shiv Sena on Sunday slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Central government for allegedly using CBI and ED for pressurising the non-BJP governments and political opponents in the country.
"Even in the pre-independence period, people were not afraid of the tyrannical British rule. Today rich politicians, industrialists submit before the 'ED' and 'CBI'. The ruling party uses such mechanisms to put pressure on the opponents," Shiv Sena said in its mouthpiece Saamana.
Woman conned in matrimonial & customs fraud by prospective groom, aide
A 41-year-old woman fell prey to the matrimonial and customs fraud, wherein she was duped to the tune of ₹1.9 lakh by two persons. The accused had contacted the victim via a matrimonial website, on the pretext of looking for a match, and then asked her to make a payment as he was caught by the customs department. A case has been registered at Andheri police station and the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act.
