Kalyan: A jilted lover has been arrested by the Thane police for allegedly taking revenge from his girlfriend, as he wrote the name of a terrorist organisation and ‘boom the Siddhivinayak temple’ in a leading mall’s bathroom. The accused has been arrested and identified as Ketan Ghodke, an LIC agent, who resides at Suryanagar in Vikhroli in Mumbai.
The incident took place in the bathroom of Thane’s Viviana mall on Sunday afternoon. The accused wrote on the advertising pamphlets stuck in the restrooms which read “Gazva-e-Hind”.
“Dadar Siddhivinayak Temple Boom”, “ISIS is Coming, Slipper cell is activated”, according to Thane Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar. The Vartak Nagar Police was informed by the mall authorities about the incident.
Thereafter, police swung into action. The Assistant Police Inspector, D S Avhad said when they rushed to the spot they found two persons mobile numbers were mentioned. Immedaitely they were contacted and they turned out to be one male and a female. The Police asked them to come to the police station.
During interrogation, they revealed that both of them were working in the same firm in Mumbai. The girl admitted that she was in a relationship with Ketan, a resident of Vikhroli for seven years, and they had parted ways few days back. The Police said that the accused suspected that she was having an affair with a male colleague in her office.
The Police team rushed to his home. When the police grilled him about the incident, he first refused but eventually committed to the offence for the purpose of revenge. Later, the police arrested him. The accused will be produced before court on Tuesday.
