A Level 1 fire broke out on Tuesday at Pipe Road, beside Patankar School.

The incident broke out around 2:27 pm, following which MFB along with other first responders were mobilised. According to fire officials, the blaze erupted from a bakery which soon spread over the nearby chawls and shanties.

"Even though there has been no loss of lives, but there might be heavy loss of property, as the fire spread to the shanties really fast," said an official.

At present, fire fighting is underway and no casualty has been reported.
