Mumbai : The result of 1,39,329 students who had appeared for the Secondary School Certificate re-exam that was conducted in July-August was declared on Tuesday. Total 35,346 students cleared the examination and 57,517 students are allowed to keep term and eligible to take admission in Std XI in the current academic year.
Konkan division recorded the lowest result (12.53%) followed by Mumbai division (17.84%). Amravati division’s passing result is the highest (32.80%) and the second highest is recorded by the Nagpur division (31.20%).
For the first time, the re-exam was conducted in July-August instead of September-October so that students should not miss their academic year. This idea was a brainchild of education minister Vinod Tawde. Talking to the reporters after the result, Tawade said, “Total 57,517 students are promoted to the next standard and re-examination has saved their academic year.” Total 1,40,121 students had registered for the SSC re-examination and 1,39,329 students had appeared for the exam.
