A man in 40s was arrested by Andheri’s DN Nagar police for allegedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl for past one year. The victim is his lover’s daughter.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the girl’s mother apparently knew about the abuse but instead of going to the police, she allegedly threatened her not to reveal anything to anyone. The girl, a student of Class X, unable to bare the torture finally narrated the entire incident to her aunt, who later approached cops.
The 15-year-old girl used to stay with her mother as her father lives and works abroad. The girl has four siblings, who stay in a different house in the same locality. The cops have said that the man is married and used to stay in Pune but used to visit the girl’s mother in Mumbai frequently. The accused used to stay in the same country as that of the girl’s father. The accused would visit Mumbai on the pretext of visa work. Parameshwar Ganame, senior inspector of DN Nagar police station told the leading daily, “During these visits, he used to stay at his lover’s house and raped the minor girl.” The DN Nagar police have registered cases under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and arrested the man.
