A fake call centre racket was busted in Sahar on Wednesday and 13 people were arrested. The mastermind behind the racket was Sakhina Motarwala alias Saniya (32).
According to the police, the accused used to target job seekers and charge them anywhere between Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000 as registration fees. The accused used to promise them jobs with Taj Sats Air Catering Limited at the international airport. The fraud was brought to light by an HR manager who saw an advertisement placed by the accused on social media.
During investigations, the cops learnt that the racket was being carried out for over two years.
All the accused have been remanded to police custody till June 30.
