The Bhoiwada police have booked a 50-year-old man for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl multiple times for over a month. The police have also booked the minor’s brother and sister-in-law as they did not pay heed to the minor who had alerted them about the repeated sexual assault.

The incident came to light last week when the minor, a native of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, was admitted to a hospital in Parel due to her illness. But as her condition worsened she was shifted to KEM hospital. During her medical examination the doctors realised that she had been sexually assaulted and alerted the police.

In her statement to the police, the girl alleged that her brother and his wife sent her to one Mohammad Shaikh in the third week of April who allegedly raped her on multiple occasions. The accused took her to Dahanu and Nalasopara and raped her there as well, she alleged.
