In a move to uplift the conditions of the people living in the drought-prone areas of the state, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is going to recruit 4,416 drivers and conductors.
Describing the step further, State’s Transport Minister Diwakar Raote informed that priority would be given in the recruitment period to people from drought-affected areas and the kin of farmers who committed suicide. The drive would be carried out in 12 drought facing districts including Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Yavatmal, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune, and Solapur. 504 posts will be reserved for the socially and educationally backward category out of the total 4416 posts.
“If this reservation cannot be implemented, candidates will be hired on a contract basis with a fixed income of Rs 15,000,” he said to The Asian Age.
