Hours after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s exclusive meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, the Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said, ‘’Mahaul badal rahai’’ (mood is changing). The CM met the PM alone for some time today. The relationship is of affection. The CM had personally called the PM who immediately received the call and gave him time.’’ He further stated that when Thackeray meets Modi it will be obviously discussed. "If the discussion had started, then of course that meeting was important," Raut said.

The Shiv Sena MP said let those who want, give a political angle to the meeting if they want. ‘’There have been old ties between the Thackeray family and Modi. We have always had respect for Narendra Modi. PM has often said how much respect he has for Balasaheb Thackeray. As the Prime Minister of the country, we have always respected him,” he noted. Raut has ruled out the possibility of a new power equation following the meeting between Thackeray and Modi.

‘’The issue of new power equations does not arise here. There should be no conflict between the Centre and the state. The Central government acts as the guardian of the states. The states expect that the Prime Minister and the Centre should help them during the times of crisis. For that, there should be good communication between the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister, this has been our consistent stand,” he said.

Further Raut said the Shiv Sena and NCP fought politically their whole lives, but had cordial personal relations. He then said that this should not be seen in terms of the current scenario. “Our political ways might be different, but there are personal relations," he opined.
