Mumbai : The Chunabhatti Police on Thursday arrested a man for making a hoax call to the police control room.

The accused, Muzaffar Shah, called the Control room informing them that there will be a bomb blast during the approaching Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The authorties traced the call to Shah, a resident of Takshashila Nagar in Kasaiwada area of Chunabhatti.

After interrogation, Shah informed that he had an altercation with the landlord of his rented apartment and following that he had made the call in a drunken state. The accused has been charged under IPC section 505 (2) for statements conducing to public mischief.
