Mumbai : Many NGOs in Malvani area have started imparting education and awareness to the youth in the area about the bitter reality of dreaded terror outfit Islamic State. They make efforts to inform them and dissuade them from supporting or joining the ISIS.
The area which has a predominantly Muslim population sees many crimes reported and has many unemployed youth involved in petty crimes.
One of them, Junail Mohammed, who has a registered NGO with branches spread across various parts of Malvani, says that it is very important that the youth don’t misinterpret the teachings of Islam. “Islam doesn’t teach its followers to kill, main or rape others. It does not believe in bloodshed, the things that ISIS propagates and is involved in are not teachings of Islam,” he stresses. He alleges that Ayaz was the force behind pushing the three young men to stray from their paths. “Ayaz’s father was a Pakistani and Ayaz lived with his mother and siblings here. Ayaz would meet Wajid and Mohsin in the mosque during their daily prayers and all three of them would be deep in talks,” he said.
He also informs that he has spoken to the family members of those missing and they had started noticing changes in their behaviour since some months.
