Mumbai: The NCP leader and former deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Sunday demanded to name Samruddhi corridor after Rajmata Jijabai, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Shiv Sena had already demanded to name this highway after the Balasaheb Thackeray. Addressing Niradhar Parivartan Yatra in Buldhana, Pawar said if the democratic front comes to power, they would name the corridor after Rajamata Jijabai.
Taking a dig at the BJP, Pawar said there is no representative in the government from the Muslim, Kunbi, Mali communities. Shivaji Maharaj’s cabinet had eight ministers, who represented all castes, then why do not they (the government) follow his thoughts if they seek the blessings of Shivaji Maharaj,” Pawar questioned.
