Mumbai : In what is an end to an exceptionally dry spell of monsoon this year, the Indian Meteorological department (IMD) announced the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from the entire state of Maharashtra on October 15.

IMD Mumbai chief VK Rajeev confirmed the observation saying: “The state will receive no more monsoon this year, not even spurts of mild showers.”

He said that the uncomfortably high temperatures in the city are expected to remain the same and will fall only by October end.
