Mumbai : The NM Joshi Marg police have arrested a doctor for allegedly molesting a teenager. The accused identified as Anil Yadav was the victim’s family doctor and was treating the teenager since last month.
The accused owns a clinic named Samarth clinic in BBD Chawl area in Worli and has been a practitioner of Siddha medicine (Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery) since 30 years. The victim, a 19-year-old girl, is also a resident of the area and had been consulting the doctor since a month for Tuberculosis treatment.
On Wednesday, the victim noticed a patch on her abdominal area and since Yadav is also her family doctor she decided to consult him. The victim has alleged that Yadav on the pretext of looking at the patch, allegedly started making obscene gestures and touching her in an inappropriate manner. When she stopped and confronted him, he started apologising and also said he would never repeat it. The girl then went home and did not tell anybody about the incident.
The next day, the girl noticed that the patch had grown and hence decided to visit the doctor again. On Thursday evening, when she reached, Yadav allegedly asked the compounder to leave the consultation room and then started touching the girl’s genital areas. The girl started shouting at him and fled from the clinic and approached the
NM Joshi Marg police station.
The officials arrested Yadav on Thursday night and have booked him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
