Mumbai: A petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court, seeking a probe against deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar in the alleged Rs 100-crore extortion case. The plea filed by advocate Ratnakar Davare cites the statements of suspended cop Sachin Waze who alleged that Pawar’s close friend Darshan Ghodawat had instructed him to extort Rs 100 crore from gutka traders.
Waze, in his letter that wasn’t submitted to the special court, also claimed that the transport minister, Anil Parab, had asked him to meet SBUT officials and demand Rs 50 crore to stop an enquiry against the group by the city police.
The petition will be heard in due course.
