Mumbai: Central Railway services on the main line were severely affected during the peak hours on Thursday morning, leaving commuters stranded at various stations. The trains were running 35 to 40 minutes late due to a crack detected on a track at Khadavli station.
A senior railway official said a team was sent to repair the track and trains were diverted to another line. “The authorities have undertaken the repair works, however it will take some more hours for traffic on the route to run normally,” the official said. The commuters tweeted their anger, with most of them conveying to the railway minister that trains have been delayed on a daily basis.
“@RailMinIndia @PiyushGoyal @Central_Railway since last 4 weeks trains are continuously getting late in the morning and since one week in the evening. If required you can check 7:18 AM KYN - CSMT 15 car fast train's schedule,” tweeted a commuter.
Some of the passengers entered the cabin of the station master at Titwala station and vented their anger on the officers present there, a video of which has gone viral.
