Mumbai: The Anti-Corruption Bureau, in a search conducted at former minister of state for revenue Suresh Dhas’s official residence, has seized four original copies of orders pertaining to other cases and a file containing original documents related to the co-operatives department.
Dhas came under the ACB’s scanner after an official of the revenue department along with two middlemen was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 23 lakh from a complai-nant on October 28. The bribe was demanded to issue docu-ments regarding an order favouring the complainant in a land dispute case. In order to obtain a copy of the order granting ownership rights of an 18-acre land to the compl-ainant, an agent Vaibhav And-hale demanded Rs 25 lakh from the him. This was when the complainant approached the ACB. -Staff Reporter
