Ahmednagar : “The new generation of the BJP snapped ties with us. But why did they snap ties with Hindutva? Their party symbol, the lotus, has turned white from saffron,” said Uddhav Thackeray while addressing a public meeting in Ahmednagar on Saturday. He was referring to the BJP’s lotus symbol, which used to be saffron, as an allusion to its Hindutva ideology. He also asked the people to decide if they want a useless, corrupt or submissive CM who will bend before the will of the party high command in Delhi, a reference to the Congress.
Thackeray claimed that the Congress-NCP combine has lost face after the corruption allegations against them.
Referring to a controversy when Thackeray had called the BJP Mughal leader Afzalkhan’s army recently, he repeated his statement and said that the Shiv Sena will emerge victorious like Shivaji Maharaj did. The BJP has no right to claim Shivaji Maharaj’s blessings.
