Mumbai: A one-and-a-half feet snake bit an 18-year-old girl, Tehseen Khan, in her house in Dharavi on Sunday morning. Soon after the girl was bitten by the snake, the girl shouted for help.
Her mother Sultana Khan without thinking about the consequences, she caught the snake, which bit her too. But, the stubborn woman didn’t let the snake go.
The woman took her daughter and the snake to the Lokmanya Tilak General Hospital (Sion) in Sion.
Holding the snake, the mother boarded a taxi and reached the hospital. At the hospital, doctors asked her as to why she had held a snake in her hand.
The woman narrated the story, saying she wanted to see if the snake was poisonous, and its poison would kill her daughter. That’s the only reason, she brought the snake to the hospital.
The doctors immediately called the veterinary doctors to check whether the snake was venomous. The vet doctors confirmed it was indeed a poisonous snake.
The girl and her mother were immediately admitted at the emergency ward. After keeping under observation for a day, the doctors advised a surgery, as poison was spread in her daughter’s hand.
The two were stated to be out of danger, but her daughter was advised a surgery.
