Bhayandar: Eyeing the 2019 general and ensuing assembly elections and to infuse fresh energy, the Mira Bhayandar unit of the Congress has undertaken a major organisational reshuffle of top ranks. Among the changes announced by the Congress, state chief Ashok Chavhan has appointed Ankush Malusare as the district president, a position earlier held by Anil Sawant, who is also municipal corporator in the civic body. Spokesperson Prakash Nagne has been entrusted with additional charge of deputy president.

Ravindra Upadhyay has been appointed as the chief of the local Seva Dal unit, an oldest frontal organisation, which works at the grassroots for the Congress. All changes will take effect immediately. Reposing faith in the newly-appointed office-bearers, former legislator and party’s general secretary Muzaffar Hussain was confident the committee would not only strengthen the party unit, but would wholeheartedly fulfil its duties towards the citizens.
