Mira Road : In a sensational twist in the journalist murder case, another ladies bar operator from Mira Road landed into the custody of the Thane (rural) police on Saturday. Two journalists – Shashi Sharma and Santosh Mishra – who had gone to cover a police raid on White House – an orchestra bar in Sai Baba Nagar, were brutally attacked by bar operator – Ganesh Kamath and his cronies on Thursday night. A couple of hours later, the editor of a local newspaper – Raghvendra Dubey (38) was found murdered, a few metres away from the spot.
Although the police arrested Kamath and his 12 aides for mounting a murderous assault on the scribes, they initially suspected their involvement in Dubey”s murder too. However in a startling revelation, a duo including – Mahesh Shetty – who operates the notorious Love Bird near Silver Park was apprehended early on Saturday for planning and executing Dubey”s murder.
“While 13 people including Ganesh Kamath of White House bar have been held for the attack on the journalists, two others including Mahesh Shetty have been held and booked for Dubey”s murder.”
confirmed a police officer. It was Mahesh and his aides who allegedly accosted Dubey from outside the police station in an auto-rickshaw and mounted a brutal assault on him near S K Stone signal. Apart from serious wounds on his head, Dubey’s private parts were found slit. While the duo has been remanded to police custody till, 28, July, the Local Crime Branch unit of the Thane (rural) has been assigned to carry out further investigations into the murder case.
