Ujjain: Ujjain Municipal Corporation on Friday allotted houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojan (PMAY) to 152 beneficiaries through lottery system in Kanipura. Mayor Meena Jonwal presided over the function. On this occasion, mayor in council members Dr Yogeshwari Rathore, Satyanarayan Chouhan and Radheshyam Verma were also present.
According to sources, houses are being allotted for Rs 2 lakh while its original construction cost is around Rs 8 lakh. Premlata Bandwal, Rinku Belani, Nisha Sengar, deputy commissioner Sunil Shah, superintending engineer Pradeep Nigam and assistant engineer PC Yadav were also present on this occasion.
Municipal commissioner inspects areas of old city
Municipal Commissioner Pratibha Pal inspected Chardham, Bhukhimata, Juna Somwariya, Piplinaka and Mangalnath area and met sanitary employees also. She gave them tips on cleanliness survey. Pal also imposed penalties on stray cattle owners in the area.
