Ujjain: Power disruptions mar pleasant weather ushered by rain

The weather of the city suddenly turned pleasant in the afternoon as it witnessed a spell of for almost one hour; however drizzling continued till 9 in till night.Though the clouds were hovering in the sky for last two days but on Tuesday afternoon the rain started with lightning and wind blowing at the speed of 8 kilometres per hour.

The untimely rain led t o rise in humidity across the city. The rain lowered the temperature in the area according to government Jiwajirao Observatory’s weatherman the maximum temperature was recorded at 37 degree Celsius while the minimum remained at 23 degree Celsius. The weatherman told that the unseasonal rainfall attributed to western disturbance and the weather will be clear in couple of days.

Frequent interruption in power supply
The unseasonal rain exposed the tall claims of the power distribution companies regarding the status of maintenance as Freeganj, Indoregate, Doulatgnaj, Dewasgate, Sethi Nagar, Nanakheda, Gopal Mandir among other areas of the city witnessed repeated power disruption for hours. In Freeganj, a busy market of the city, power disruption occurred with an interval of minutes for several times all the day and for one hour in the evening and disturbed the usual business of the area.
