Ujjain: The civic body organised its general meeting on Friday which was chaired by Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) president Sonu Gehlot. During the meeting proposals for construction of LIG, MIG residential flats and commercial cum residential complex at Maksi road and Indore road located government land, came up.
The members gave nod to shifting of parking from UMC premises to elsewhere. Decisions like organising Atal Khel Mela, allotments of temporary shops for woolen garments sellers and fire cracker sellers were also taken. Decisions pertaining to water supply tanks and laying pipe lines for potable water were also taken in the meeting. On this occasion mayor Meena Jonwal, leader of opposition and officials concerned were also present during the meeting.
Recitation of national song
According to instruction of the state government on the first day of the month national song Vande Mataram was recited by the officials, staffers and public representatives in the UMC premises in which mayor Meena Jonwal, LoP Rajendra Vashishtha, mayor-in-council members Satyanarayan Chouhan, Radheshyam Verman, additional commissioner Manoj Pathak, Pavankumar Chouhan, deputy commissioner Sunil Shah, Yogendra Patel, superintending engineering Pradeep Nigam, health officer BS Mehte, executive engineering Rambabu Sharma and other staffers were present.
Modern public facility center dedicated
A modern public facility center was dedicated to the city. The facility center constructed under Clean India Mission was inaugurated near Ambedkar Bhawan and Mazdoor Square, in the presence of mayor Meena Jonwal and MLA Paras Jain. According to UMC officials it is a unisex facility center.
MIC members Satyanarayan Chouhan, zone head Vinita Sharma, Santosh Yadav, corporator Rinki Belani, Vikas Malviya, Sunil Borasi, Santosh Vyas, Manoj Rajwani, Shyam Sharma and employees of Sulabh International were present on this occasion.
