Ujjain: District election officer meets members of political parties

Ujjain: Collector and district election officer Shashank Mishra held a meeting of various political parties on Monday at Brihaspati Bhawan. The collector asked political parties to follow model code of conduct. He asked parties to take prior permission of election commission for flags on vehicles. The polling will be held on May 19 and vote counting on May 23. The last date for filing nomination is April 29. The candidate can withdraw names till May 02.

Political parties to abide by Property Defacement Act
Addressing political parties, the collector asked them to abide by Property Defacement Act. Political pamphlets and banners would be removed from across the city. The officials concerned informed that over 16 lakh votes would take part in the general election from the district and would cast their votes at 2066 voting centres.  Additional collector RP Tiwari, Rishabh Shukla, deputy district election officer Shaili Kanash, Vivek Gupta, Mahipalsingh Chouhan, Kapil Katariya, Kailashchandra Rathore and other parties leaders attended the meeting.
