Collector and district election officer Shashank Mishra interacted with office-bearers of political parties at Simhasth Fair Authority office on Thursday. The collector instructed assistant returning officers to inspire voters to cast votes in every assembly seat of the district. Political parties’ officer-bearers were informed about preparations of General Election.
Political parties questioned potable water supply water in rural areas and urged collector to take corrective steps at the earliest. They also demanded demonstration of AVM and VVPAT machines in rural areas. The collector assured political parties that arrangements would be made to ensure heckle free voting in rural areas.
During the meeting deputy district election officer Shailee Kanash shared important information about election through power point presentation. During the meeting officials concerned informed that necessary actions under Property Defacement Act are being taken against offenders.
The collector advised the political parties not seek votes on the basis on religion as it would be a violation of model code of conduct. The meeting was attended by SP Sachin Atulkar, additional collector Rishabh Gupta, RP Tiwari, Zila panchayat CEO Nilesh Parikh, Shailee Kanash and other officials.
