Ujjain: Taking advantage of chilly weather, thieves on Monday night strike at a namkeen shop and made away with cash and material worth Rs 2 lakh from there. According to information, owner of the shop Gopal Porwal informed Dewasgate police about the theft soon after finding the locks his shop near Mahajan Community Hall, Dudhtalai broken and items lying scattered on floor.
Shopkeepers keepers of the area complained that there is no regular police patrolling and miscreants move freely till late night at Dudhtalai. Theft cases are on the rise in city and SP has also convened meeting on Monday in which he directed the police to increase night patrolling in city to curb thefts.
