Ujjain: In a sudden and unprecedented move, the MP Bhoj (Open) University, Bhopal has cancelled all admissions made in different 26 under-graduation and post-graduation courses for the year 2018-2019. Varsity administration has also directed all regional centres and study centres to refund admission fees to the affected students through RTGS.
Sources told Free Press that about 1500 students of Ujjain division will be affected with this decision. Ujjain mayor Meena Jonwal is also one of the affected students as she had taken admission in MSW course and even more submitted her dissertation work. Now the varsity administration will refund them a sum of over Rs 56 lakh. On being contacted, varsity’s regional director Dr VK Gupta confirmed that admission to 26 courses has been cancelled with immediate effect in view of compliance of University Grants Commission’s letter dated October 26, 2018.
