Ujjain: District administration on Wednesday organised a meeting discuss proper arrangements for religious festivals, fairs and cultural programmes in the city and other places. The meeting was presided over by divisional commissioner Ajeet Kumar who instructed the officials to make proper arrangements for the festivals, ceremonies, religious events to be held in the city. The meeting was held at Simhastha fair authority office in which IG Rakesh Gupta, collector Shashank Mishra, SP Sachin Atulkar, municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal, Zila Panchayat CEO Nilesh Parikh and other officials were present.
Addressing the meeting, additional collector Rishabh Gupta said that Bhutadi Amavasya, Gudi Padva and Chetichand are the festival coming in the month of April and all necessary arrangements should be made by the departments concerned. Officials instructed ensure adequate water for bathing in Kshipra: The officials were instructed to ensure adequate water in river Kshipra on the occasion of these festivals.
According to the officials, water from Narmada will be released on April 1 from Dewas Barrage which will reach to all the ghats of Kshipra in the city. The administration also instructed to release water from Ramghat on Sunday so that the same may reach at Kaliyadeh on Bhutadi Amavasya. The administration also instructed to maintain cleanliness of all ghats and banks of the river and Kaliyadeh and facilities of temporary changing rooms and mobile toilets. In view of huge turnout of pilgrims, home guards, divers, motor boats, life jackets and security guards should be deployed at every ghat, the commissioner said.
