Lady police inspector Sita Singh’s husband Anuj Singh has been arrested on Wednesday morning for plotting murder of his wife. An attempt on life of Sita was made when unidentified contract killers attacked her on the intervening night of April 3 and 4.
She had come to the city with his husband Anuj Singh, his sister Anuradha alias Neetu on a religious trip which was planned by her husband and father in law and the mastermind of the conspiracy Yadkaran. Sita’s in-laws wanted grab the Rs 1cr of insurance money after getting her killed. All the kin of Sita stayed at the residence of their family friend, located in Tirupati Dham in Ujjain where the attack was made.
The police said, Anuj Singh paid Rs 50000 as a token to contract killers. The accused is a CRPF cop and for his arrest the MP police took UP DGP’s nod, the police added. During the interrogation Singh told the police that his father assured him that he will arrange for his second marriage after the death of his present wife Sita Singh and plotted the murder of his wife. The police told that manhunt for the mastermind in the case- Anuj Singh’s father Yadkaran is on, and he would be nabbed soon.
