Mumbai: Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat on Friday said that actor Salman Khan will not be able to leave the country till the final hearing in the 2002-hit-and-run-case, which is scheduled to take place in July.
“The final hearing will be in the month of July. Till the final hearing, he is not allowed to go abroad and if he wants to, then he has to take permission from the [Bombay] High Court,” Gharat told media here.
“Salman Khan has been given bail bond of Rs. 30,000. He has to surrender immediately in the Sessions Court,” he added.
The Bombay High Court on Friday suspended Salman Khan’s five-year sentence in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
With this ruling, the Dabangg star will not be taken to jail. However, he will first have to go to the Sessions Court in order to execute a fresh bail bond because his two-day interim bail ends today.
On Wednesday, a Mumbai Sessions Court found Salman guilty of culpable homicide and sentenced him to five years imprisonment in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case, where he ran over a homeless person and injured four others.
However, the Bombay High Court granted him a two-day interim bail for the same.
