Woman dies, hubby injured in accident

Indore : A 58-year-old woman was killed and her husband got critically injured after a bike hit their vehicle at MG Road late on Tuesday night. The biker had fled the scene after the incident. Central Kotwali police have registered a case against the accused and are trying to trace him.

Investigation Officer S-I Kapil Dev said that the deceased was identified as Hemlata Shah, a resident of Krishi Vihar Colony. She had gone to Rajwada with her husband Rajkumar for shopping. They were returning from there on a two-wheeler when a bike collided with their vehicle in which both of them got seriously injured. Passers-by informed the police and took them to the hospital immediately but Hemlata could not be saved. Rajkumar is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

The accused biker managed to flee the scene after the incident. Police were trying to trace the accused on the basis of his bike’s registration number which were given by a passer-by and the CCTV cameras are also being examined to identify him. In another incident, one Ramcharan, 45, a resident of Bhagya Shree Colony, was hit by a speeding truck in Lasudiya area on Tuesday night. He was taken to the hospital by passers-by where the doctors declared him brought dead. The police registered a case against errant driver of the truck and launched a search for him.
