Indore : The Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has once again made it mandatory for colleges to submit continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE), practical and dissertation marks seven days ahead of the exams.

Students of the colleges that fail to meet the deadline would have to bear the brunt of the apathetic attitude of their respective institutes.

Deputy Registrar (exam) Prajwal Khare said that it is now mandatory for colleges to submit CCE, practical and dissertation marks at least seven days before the exam.

“After the deadline is passed, the marks will not be accepted and the entire responsibility of the loss of the students would be onto the principals of the deviant colleges,” he said.

Previously also this rule was in place but the same was scrapped for the reasons best known to the powers that be.

There was also provision for slapping a fine of Rs 1000 per student on the colleges that do not submit the CCE/practical marks within the prescribed time limit.

Initially, this provision was scrapped hiding behind the excuse that the colleges would collect the fine amount from students and later the rule was abandoned.

However, the DAVV felt the need to re-introduce the norm once again when results of BEd and MEd got delayed recently due to non-submission of practical and dissertation marks ahead of exams.

BEd exam results could not be announced for a month despite evaluation of answer books only because colleges did not submit practical marks.

Penalty provision not implemented

Though the DAVV has re-introduced 7-day norm for submission of CCE/practical marks ahead of exams, the provision of penalty of Rs 1000 per student on colleges have not been implemented. Sources said that the penalty clause was added to the norm in the pressure from the colleges.
