MANAWAR : The life in Manawar town has been returning to fast normal as no untoward incident was reported on the third day, after violence broke out during a religious procession two days ago.

However, the patrolling of police vehicles and imposition of section 144 continued throughout the day. School, colleges and several business establishments remained closed and a few busses were witnessed at the town’s main bus stand. Several programmes to be organised on the occasion of Makar Sankranti were cancelled due to the prevailing situation.

Superintendent of police Rajesh Hingankar said that action against 51 people was taken and cases against 7 persons were registered in connection to the Tuesday’s violence. More persons would be arrested as police are probing the matter through video footage, he said adding that police force would be deployed at sensitive areas till the situation becomes normal.

Congress leader of Dhar Mohan Singh Bundela alongwith Dr Ramesh Patidar visited the town and interacted with the residents. They appealed the residents to help administration to maintain peace in the town.

Additional SP Rai Singh Vasunia, SDM SP Singh, SDOP Dheeraj Babbar, TI Ranjeet Bahel along with police force are keeping close eyes on the situation.

“Police patrolling will continue till the situation becomes normal. Police are trying to identify the accused through video footage and more persons would be arrested soon.”
