Indore: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Madhya Pradesh in association with Airports Authority of India organised the second edition of Connect Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh Aviation Tourism Conference on Saturday at Hotel Indore Marriott. The objective of the conference is to focus on challenges and potential of aviation sector and infrastructure in the state. Till last year, Indore had 30 flights daily. This number has increased to 135 flights flying to and from Indore every day. Besides increase in number of flights, many amenities were added at Indore airport, which runs 24×7 now.
Former chairman, CII MP State Council and member, Airport Advisory Committee, Indore, Ranjan Mimani discussed benefits of starting international flights from Indore.
“A large number of leisure and corporate travellers in state have to book flights from Mumbai or Delhi for travelling abroad. Indore not only has passengers residing in city and surrounding areas but travellers of many small towns within 250- kilometre radius also board flight from Indore airport,” he said.
