Indore: Plea for amendment in Kakkar’s petition accepted

Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday accepted an application filed by counsel of Praveen Kakkar, officer on special duty to chief minister Kamal Nath.  The application was accepted as additional solicitor general did not object to it. The court gave seven days to respondents to file their replies on the amended petition. Income tax department conducted raids at the houses of Nath’s aides including Kakkar. Kakkar had moved court seeking to declare the I-T action against him illegal.  During hearing on April 11, Kakkar counsel Kapil Sibal had sought permission from the court to amend the petition. The court had asked Sibal to file application by April 15 for the same. The next date has been fixed for May 9.
